CILab
Computational Intelligence Laboratory
Some news
CILab is a research laboratory of the Department of Computer Science of the University of Bari Aldo Moro that deals with fundamental and applied research in the field of Computational Intelligence. The CILab research group is coordinated by Prof. Giovanna Castellano.
Computational Intelligence
Computational Intelligence focuses on developing intelligent systems that can adapt and learn from experience, solve complex problems, and perform tasks that traditionally require human intelligence. It finds application in several areas, including data analysis, pattern recognition, optimization, and decision support systems. Computational Intelligence encompasses various subfields, including artificial neural networks, evolutionary algorithms, and fuzzy systems. These techniques are often used to analyze large-scale, complex datasets, extract patterns and make predictions or decisions based on the knowledge gained.
Objectives
The central objectives of CILab are developed around three axes:
Development of innovative Computational Intelligence methods
Application of acquired skills to address real problems in different branches of science
Dissemination of this knowledge
Research
CILab's current research is developed around the following main topics:
Computer Vision and Deep Learning
Fuzzy Modeling, Granular Computing, and XAI
Data Stream Mining
Computational Intelligence in Healthcare
