We offer B.Sc. and M.Sc. theses on our research topics. Occasionally, theses on similar topics can be conducted in collaboration with local companies through external internships. Of course, you can also propose a topic of your interest, and we will be happy to explore it together!
A template for M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses, as well as a research diary for documenting notes and tracking progress of the thesis project, are available on Overleaf. Additionally, a Bachelor thesis template (in Italian) and a PowerPoint guide on structuring the final dissertation presentation (in Italian) are also available for download.
Students doing their thesis with us will primarily use Python as the main programming language. The project will involve working with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, depending on the specific task and preferences. Outstanding results may contribute to scientific publications or be presented at national/international conferences.
The following proposals are primarily intended for Master's theses; however, undergraduate students may also work on selected subtasks as part of their Bachelor's thesis.
Amodal Image Completion
Explore and develop models that can predict and reconstruct the invisible parts of partially occluded objects, a task known as amodal image completion.
Video Captioning and Music Integration
Develop a system that generates natural language captions for videos, analyzes the visual and linguistic content to infer mood or emotion, and composes or selects music that enhances the overall emotional experience.
